Lots of Options in Puerto Vallarta
It can be a tough call when you have only one week in your Villa Rental Puerto Vallarta and a huge list of potential entertainments: Do you want to shop for local treasures? Hang out at the beach? Get breathless on an outdoor adventure? You can spend all day and all night trying out everything the city has to offer and still not get it all done.
And planning your day becomes even more challenging when you consider the entirely separate world of options just outside the city’s limits. Here are two day trips that will take you in very different directions.
- Make a trip to las Caletas, the idyllic private retreat of film director John Huston (he made much of "Night of the Iguana" in the vicinity). This trip requires a bit of advance planning – a bus to Mismaloya and a panga (small boat) to the beaches – because it continues to be very remote and isolated. Or you can join a group expedition with Vallarta Adventures.
- Spend a day away from your Villa Rental Puerto Vallarta in the agricultural town of Mascota, in the highlands east of the city. Take a bus or rent a car and enjoy the journey. When you get to town, visit the historical museum and the local art gallery to get a look at an entirely different side of life in Mexico.
